Dave Broom To Host Modern Masters of Scotland Tasting Session Come 2025 - Tickets Opened
What do you do when Chichibu Whisky Matsuri is over and you still haven't gotten enough? Well, sign up for a masterclass conducted by acclaimed whisky writer Dave Broom at the hottest spot in town, the Aloha Whisky Bar of course!
As the year draws to a close and we start marking out our calendars for 2025, here's an event you won't want to miss - Dave Broom will be hosting a series of tastings of the famed Modern Masters of Scotland series of Scotch whiskies that were bottled some 20 years ago and have now become vintage Scotch treasures.

These 10 different cask strength, single cask bottlings were originally released some 20 years ago by Tokyo-based spirits importer Whisk-e Limited, and together they feature the following:
- Dallas Dhu 1975,
- Longmorn 1976,
- Glencadam 1973,
- Benriach 1975,
- Glenlivet 1975,
- Glen Grant 1967,
- Highland Park 1982,
- Speyside Region 1971,
- Clynelish 1974,
- Brora 1981.

Four separate (but identical) sessions will be held in total, spread across the weekend of February 22nd and 23rd, 2025, the very weekend after the grand Chichibu Whisky Matsuri. Each ticket is priced at ¥40,000, with each participant receiving a 10ml pour of each one of the ten bottlings that make up the series.

Beyond famed whisky writer Dave Broom, you'll also be hosted by Aloha Whisky Bar owner David Tsujimoto and fellow Japanese whisky expert Stefan Van Eycken, who will together take you through the tasting.
Each session is capped at a maximum of 13 participants, and will also include a signed copy of Dave Broom's latest book "The World Atlas of Whisky, Ed. 3", as well as a copy of his tasting notes for the Modern Masters series.
