
From en rama sherry to prestige Champagne, the WSET has finally revealed every bottle featured in its 2025/2026 Diploma tasting examinations.
Administered globally between October 2025 and June 2026, blind tasting exams across the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines includes six units, three of which feature tasting exams.
The exams comprise of Units D3 (Wines of the World), D4 (Sparkling), and D5 (Fortified) test students' ability to identify quality, style, and origin in the WSET Level 4 Diploma.
Notably, January’s D5 Fortified Wines exam featured Barbadillo Manzanilla Pasada En Rama De La Pastora, WSET's first en rama sherry included in its Diploma exam.
The en rama style is bottled directly from the cask with minimal intervention, and are typically unfined and unfiltered
Every featured bottle undergoes blind evaluation by panel members including Masters of Wine, WSET Diploma graduates, and senior educators to ensure precise quality standards.
Flights were also designed to test both classic regional knowledge and contemporary wine trends.
Wines were selected from 11 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Australia, South Africa, Argentina, New Zealand, England and the United States.
In total, 39 wines were poured for tasting:
- 24 for D3: Wines of the World
- 9 for D4: Sparkling Wines
- 6 for D5: Fortified Wines
