Finland's Kyro Releases First Of New Sauna Stories Collection Featuring Sauna-Aged Whiskies
With whiskies produced in more places than ever, we're accustomed to seeing some pretty wild and unique methods, but this is a very intriguing world first! Finland's Kyro is introducing its new Sauna Stories which will see its whiskies aged in Finland's iconic sauna!
"The sauna is a place of transformation. You never come out of one without at least a small change. It is a place of purity, of equality, a place of bringing people together, of creating connections and of deep conversations."
The first of Kyro's Sauna Stories will see its whiskies finished in the 55°C environment of a Finnish sauna, which has also been first aged in ex-Bourbon casks, and finished in Jamaican rum barrels from Planteray.
The new series celebrates the Finnish distillery's 10th anniversary, and will see the use of a specially built sauna, with the special ageing process said to allow the whisky to breathe and absorb new flavours from the cask.
