Gaiaflow Shizuoka Marks Decade Milestone With 10th Anniversary Release Of 'United S'
To commemorate its 10th anniversary, Gaiaflow Shizuoka Distillery is releasing a special edition of its flagship single malt, Shizuoka United S.
As the second installment in the distillery's decade-milestone series, this release features a commemorative packaging design while preserving the core expression's balanced, versatile flavor profile. The 10th Anniversary Edition will begin shipping sequentially in late November 2026.
The packaging features an illustration of Shizuoka Distillery framed by its surrounding mountain landscape, and aims to highlight the natural environment of Shizuoka that shapes its whisky.
A defining feature of Shizuoka Distillery is its dual wash stills: Still W, which uses direct wood firing to yield a rich, heavy spirit, and Still K (salvaged from the legendary Karuizawa Distillery) which produces a light, ester-forward profile.
The distillery also uses malt from different regions and varieties: Shizuoka, Japan, and the UK, to produce different spirits, maturing each to create spirits with distinct characteristics.
Shizuoka United S will comprise of the standard single malt from the Shizuoka Distillery, composed of a wide variety of raw spirits.
The distillery says the expression has"a light, sweet aroma that unfolds gently, and a rich flavor that spreads in your mouth".
Bottled at 50.5% ABV and in a 700ml format, the Gaiaflow Single Malt Japanese Whisky Shizuoka United S 10th Anniversary Edition boasts an MSRP of 9,790 yen.
