Glenmorangie Reprises Collab With Azuma Makoto For Extraordinarily Rare Release White Burgundy Finish
It seems like the Highland Scotch distillery is reprising their collaboration with Japanese artist Azuma Makoto, in what is titled Dr Bill Lumsden X Azuma Makoto Aged 23 Years Extraordinarily Rare Release, which features an interest white Burgundy finish.
Artist Azuma Makoto is known for using flowers and blooms as his medium of art and has done everything from launched a bonsai into space, to plunging a bouquet into the depths of the ocean and even frozen all of it.
Back in 2021, Glenmorangie collaborated with Azuma to give the 18 Year Old Extremely Rare expression a new packaging based on the artist's work "Dancing Flowers of Glenmorangie" which includes about 100 flowers curated based on the inspiration taken from his sip of the whisky.

Back then, we noted that only the packaging for the release was different, with the whisky residing inside the same as the core 18 Year Old Extremely Rare expression. Nonetheless it was a big hit and was quite the collectible.
This time, Glenmorangie is giving us alot more to chew on as the new 23 Year Old Extraordinarily Rare Release will feature "a marriage of Bourbon & white Burgundy finish casks".
The upcoming release is bottled at 46% ABV and while we only have the labels, you can bet the packaging is going to feature some fantastic florals from Makoto.
