Laphroaig Debuts New Wall Collection With Hand Painted Bottles Made Using Paint From Distillery's Warehouse No. 1

Islay fan favourite Laphroaig is releasing the first of its new Wall Collection: Peat, which is a 36 Year Old expression that emphasises on demonstrating the importance in peat for the iconic Laphroaig profile.

The new Laphroaig Wall Collection: Peat was created with a finishing using casks previously holding younger, heavily peated Laphroaig single malt that then "reintensifies" the smokiness of the expression.

“STURDY. TEXTURAL. ATMOSPHERIC.  LIKE THE WALL, THEY’VE BEEN GIVEN A FRESH LICK OF PAINT: ASKING TO BE WEATHERED AND KEPT AND LOOKED AFTER.”

Excitingly this new expression will each come in a hand-painted bottle by London-based artist Laura Carlin, using the same paint used for the walls of Laphroaig's Warehouse No. 1.

“The Wall Collection is hugely exciting for us as it celebrates two of the most enduring and iconic elements of our whisky and our distillery: the peat we use to imbue our barley with its distinctive deep, smoky flavour and the striking white walls of our distillery.

And the whisky itself is every bit as special as the bottle. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, this spirit has been finished in a heavily peated cask so we’ve been able to reintensify the smokiness that usually takes a back seat in older whisky. This extraordinary bottle is unlike anything else we’ve released before.”
