Macallan Goes Cirque du Soleil For New Harmony Collection Vibrant Oak Edition

Macallan is back with its fourth edition of its Harmony Collection, and this time we're headed to the world famous Cirque du Soleil! Cirque du Soleil of course being the world's largest and more renowned contemporary circus theatre production.

Macallan's Harmony Collection spotlights the distillery's progress towards sustainability through innovative uses of new techniques and natural materials to package its single malt. Through the series, we've had cacao with Jordi Roca (of two-time Best Restaurant in the World, El Celler de Can Roca), sipped arabica coffee with Coffee Masters, and walked through Scottish meadows with the McCartney sisters.

Each release in the series has seen two variants - a limited release at a higher proof and a Global Travel Retail accompaniment at a lower proof - both of which utilising recycled materials in the theme of the release, be it discarded cacao husks or coffee bean husks, as well as discarded meadow cuttings.

For the fourth edition - the Macallan Harmony Collection Vibrant Oak in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, we've got a first look at an incredibly blurry back label from Macallan (we're not kidding, just take a look below).

Nevertheless, we'll decipher it anyway!

It reads as follows:

"Vibrant Oak is an enchanting collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, as we come together to celebrate 200 years of The Macallan.

This release celebrates the significant of wood to The Macallan, from the oak casks that make our whisky so special, to the innovative possibilities of repurposing natural materials.

Oak chippings, a by-product created while making our casks, have been used in the packaging box and bottle labels.

The spirit is matured in a combination of first fill sherry seasoned American oak casks and refill casks. These have been carefully selected to deliver the classic American oak flavours of vanilla, citrus and sweet oak, naturally derived from the cask during maturation, with a medium sweet finish that delicately lingers."

Boy, oh boy, Macallan you don't make it any easier do you? But we remain undeterred - and are 44.2% certain we've correctly deciphered your pixelated riddle!

The new Macallan Harmony Collection Vibrant Oak is bottled at 44.2% ABV, and should most definitely see its own Global Travel Retail variant.

Stay tuned!

Kanpai!
