America's Michter's was just voted the most admired American whiskey in the world by Drinks International, having built a strong reputation and long heritage of making high quality traditional American whiskies.
Perhaps then it seems like there would be no better time for Michter's to drop its most coveted expression - the Michter's Celebration Sour Mash, which has only ever been released three time prior since its founding in 1753, the last of which being in 2019.
“This is the second time that I have had the honor of working with our team to produce a Michter’s Celebration release,
This edition contains whiskeys personally selected by me from seven extraordinary barrels: three of them Kentucky straight bourbon and four of them Kentucky straight rye.”
- Dan McKee, Master Blender for Michter's
The unicorn expression is a blend comprising of seven different bourbons and ryes, aged from 12 years to over 30 years old, selected specially by Michter's Master Blender Dan McKee, alongside Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson.
Michter's Celebration Sour Mash was first released in 2013 to mark "a significant moment in United States whiskey history". While the latest, and four ever, release was due to be released in 2022, packaging issues delayed its release to 2023. The new expression has been matured in fire-charred, new American white oak barrels.
“This whiskey is an exploratory journey of aged bourbons and ryes blended to perfection that leaves your palate captivated with its bold elegance,”
