Amrut is ready to debut the third release in its Single Malts of India series which aims to showcase single malts produced across India by other distillers aside from its own - which is an interesting twist considering that Amrut is one of the leading producers of single malt whiskies in India.
With this series, Amrut acts uniquely as an independent bottler, demonstrating its knowledge and understanding of the South Asian sub-continent, with strong ties to the various other producers in the country and thus possessing the ability to source quality single malts from other producers, featuring alongside its own single malts.
The first two releases included the Neidhal and Kurinji, which will now be joined by the Marudham.
Marudham, presented by Amrut, is a single malt eponymously sourced from a Marudham or agricultural land and exhibits traits that uniquely spring from the locale.
Official Tasting Notes

Taste: Fruity, Chocolate, Vanilla, Thick Pineapple, Tropical Fruit
Finish: Long, Salivating
Interestingly, there appears to be two releases in the works for the Marudham - a NAS expression bottled at 46% ABV, and a 10 Year Old expression bottled at 50% ABV. Both reference ageing in oak casks, without its specific type.
