Campbeltown's Springbank is well on its way working towards its grand 200th anniversary just 3 years away, but in the meantime it has got to put out a few nifty surprises to keep everyone hanging on. Here's their new 5 Year Old 114 Proof that we should expect to see soon!

Traditional Springbank's core range has focused on the 10 Year Old, 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old, 18 Year Old, 21 Year Old, 25 Year Old and 30 Year Old, where it comes to age statements. The 5 Year Old is thus a new addition to the range, one that whilst not unheard of, will add another more accessible entry point to the highly sought after Springbank collection.

The 5 Year Old has historically been bottled for the Springbank Society members' club, and has typically come in at 100 Proof (50% ABV), and thus the new 5 Year Old at 114 Proof (57% ABV) will serve as a more publicly released upgraded version to that.

Nevertheless it remains to be seen if this 5 Year Old will become a permanent part of the Springbank core range! Let's hope so!
