• Springbank is counting down to their 200th anniversary in 2028 as one of Scotland's remaining independent distilleries.
• To celebrate, the distillery is kickstarting a five-bottle series, The Countdown Collection, which will be released annually with a total of 500 bottles per release.

As if Springbank fever could not be any more intense, Springbank Distillery, the gem of Scotland's smallest whisky-producing region, Campbeltown, is looking towards their 200th anniversary, established in 1828.

A once in a lifetime event like this surely has to be commemorated in no other way than to release some exciting bottles - introducing the Countdown Collection, a five-bottle series.

The collection will feature a special bottling released each year until 2028 - the 200th anniversary of one of Scotland's more enduring independent distilleries. Each edition will be limited to just 500 bottles exclusively available via ballot through Springbank.

The first bottling for the Countdown Collection is a 27 Year Old expression from the distillery, matured in a combination of refill bourbon and refill sherry casks onsite at the distillery and bottled at 47.1% ABV.

Of course, there's more. Expect special events, experiences and prizes to be rolled out along the way to 2028.

Back to the first bottling of the series, which we're sure you're all excited about, the ballot will go live on Monday 20th March 2023, and run till Sunday 26th March 2023.

Each bottle won will come with a certificate of authenticity and is priced at 2,500 GBP (or US$3,000).
