Talisker The Wild Blue 2025 Edition Combines South African Red Wine Casks With Isle Of Skye Coastal Peat

Talisker has just unveiled a new 2025 Edition Talisker The Wild Blue, which sees the smoky, coastal whisky finished in South African Red Wine casks for 16 months, said to add a fresh berry sweetness and orchard fruits, with also a rounded vinous finish to the classic coastal peat smoke.
This comes as part of Talisker's ongoing sustainability initiatives where it's partnered with the Blue Marine Foundation to help restore coastal wildlife. Each bottle is made from 100 percent recycled glass, and each purchase of the Talisker The Wild Blue will see a £3 donation to the Blue Marine Foundation, with the goal of aiming to raise over £100,000 in support of marine and coastal habitat restoration in the South of England. Specifically, the donation will go towards efforts to enhance biodiversity, improve water quality and to support marine life by revitalising native oysters and seagrass meadows. It's worth noting that Talisker has pledged to donate £112,608 irrespective of the amount of bottles sold.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Red berries and bonfire smoke rise first, followed by sea spray, charred driftwood, and spiced plum compote.
Taste: Sweet blackcurrant, poached pear and baked apple up front, wrapped in Talisker's trademark coastal pepper and gentle smokiness. Wine tannins and toasted oak give grip and structure.
Finish: Lingering smoke with red fruit jam, salted caramel and warming oak spice.
