Wild Turkey is commemorating Master Distiller Jimmy Russell's 70th Anniversary with an 8 Year Old release at the Bourbon distillery's signature 50.5% ABV (or 101 Proof).

As of yet, there's no details as to whether this expression differs from the current 8 Year Old 101 Proof which shares similar technical features as the anniversary release.

Master Distiller Jimmy Russell, who serves alongside his son Eddie Russell, first got his start at the distillery on 10th September 1954, and has been actively managing the distillery since then. Under his supervision, the distillery has tided through some crucial moments that have helped defined the distillery, as well as put out some incredibly iconic expressions, whilst also solidifying Wild Turkey's distinctively mellow and rich flavour profile.

It is said that the expression most exemplifying of Jimmy Russell's work is the Wild Turkey 101 and thus it's clearly symbolic for his 70th anniversary release to feature the same specs!
