-
Wagatomo presents sake pairing dinners featuring the best of Wagatomo paired with select sake, including a new blended collaboration sake, RASEN by Yaegaki and Chef Willin Low.

As Singapore's ever-popular Sake Matsuri Festival is upon us, be ready to expect several masterclasses that takes you more intimately with Sakes and how they pair with food.

Get up close and personal with Chef Tomoyuki of fine Japanese restaurant Wagatomo, as he collaborates with Sake Samurai Elliot Faber and Inter Rice Asia Director Adrian Goh for two exclusive seatings of Sake pairing dinners.

This will also be the debut of an exciting new collaboration Sake - Yaegaki x Willin Low. The dinner will showcase the RASEN, a partnership between historic 350-year old Hyogo-based brewery Yaegaki and Singaporean celebrity chef Willin Low.

A sneak peek of the menu from Wagatomo includes:

Helming the dinner will be Wagatomo's Chef Tomoyuki Kiga who draws on experiences from stints at 2 Michelin-starred Ristorante Aso in Daikanyama, Tokyo, as well as Melisse in Santa Monica, US. He was also behind the opening of Akira Back across Singapore, Jakarta and New Delhi, having been awarded the Michelin Plate in 2018, 2019 and 2021 for his culinary leadership.

The Sake pairing will be led by Elliot Faber, founding Beverage Director for Michelin-starred Yardbird Hong Kong and RONIN. He is the author of SAKE: The History, Stories and Craft of Japan's Artisanal Breweries, for which he was awarded "Sake Samurai" by the Japan Sake Brewers Association's Junior Council. He is also responsible for the opening of MORI at Singapore's Mandala Club.

Then there's the popular face of Singapore's Sake scene - Adrian Goh, Director of Inter Rice Asia. He draws on his experiences having visited over a hundred Sake breweries through his regular study visits to Japan. He is a regular in the scene, conducting seminars, workshops and of course, food pairing events to raise appreciation of Sake. His accreditation includes being a six-time judge for the IWC Sake competition, the largest of its kind the world, as well as having received the Japan Sake Diploma International certification from the Japan Sommelier Association.

The intimate dining and Sake pairing experience will take place at Wagatomo, located at Tanjong Pagar's Guoco Tower, right after the Sake Matsuri Festival, with details as follows.
