FURA Marks One Year of Sustainability With Special Anniversary Celebrations on 8th December

FURA, co-founded by Christina Rasmussen and Sasha Wijidessa, celebrates its first anniversary with an immersive full-day event. Derived from the symbiotic relationship between pine trees and fungi, FURA champions the collaborative spirit of growth and sustainability through its innovative beverages and practices. The event will feature a specially curated lineup of activities, showcasing FURA’s inspirations, local partnerships, and commitment to sustainability.

Morning Greenmarket: A Celebration of Local Partnerships

From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, guests are invited to explore the Greenmarket on the Terrace, a vibrant showcase of FURA’s local partners. Highlights include:

  • GreenLoopFarms, an urban farm dedicated to cultivating high-quality hydroponic produce, will feature food offerings like kale, rocket, and edible flower mixes.
  • Bewilder, a mycological design studio, will demonstrate how waste can be transformed into gourmet and medicinal mushrooms, as well as mycelium-based materials. Their specialties, including blue oyster and lion’s mane mushrooms, will also be available for purchase.
  • Sustainable beverage options, including Prefer, a bean-free coffee brand, and Jiggy, producers of low-calorie, spiked seltzers.
  • Freshly baked breads and pastries by Mother Dough, FURA’s original partner, will also be served directly from FURA’s kitchen.

Prefer's coffee is an upcycled product made of day-old bread from baked goods company Gardenia, soya bean pulp from soya bean chain Mr Bean, and spent barley grains from local breweries such as The 1925 Brewing Co and Brewerkz.

Guests can also shop unique home and living items crafted by FURA’s design and furnishing collaborators:

  • Plank, creator of FURA’s signature flatpack stools, will host a hands-on workshop where attendees can assemble and personalize serving trays made from sustainable birch plywood.
  • TANCHEN, renowned for functional textiles, will lead a workshop on braiding and twisting paracord keychains.
  • WASTD, a Singapore-based studio, will showcase their recycled oyster shell coasters.

Workshop registrations are now open! Register here for the Plank workshop and here for the Tanchen workshop.

During the TANCHEN x FURA workshop, one can expect to learn two knotting techniques and will be able to customize their keychains with an array of personally sourced beads by TANCHEN.

Afternoon and Evening Culinary Experiences

In addition to the Morning Greenmarket, the culinary journey continues with the following exclusive dining experiences:

  • From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Chef Jo Siy of Lolla will serve a selection of plant-forward bites, complemented by three signature cocktails crafted by Juan Yi Jun, co-founder of No Sleep Club.
  • From 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Chef Mirko Fabbrite of Somma will take the helm, presenting innovative dishes alongside cocktails by Bar Manager Mel Chavez, known for her creative reinterpretations of classic recipes.

Meet Chef Mirko Febbrile of Somma, which means “sum” in Italian, featuring a creative exploration of modern Italian cuisine inspired by his roots and global experiences.
