Nose: butter, low levels of sherry notes, vegetative, a little salty.

Palate: unstable flavors, initial palate is a weird type of wood or leaf, mid palate has better body, gets a little dry, burnt rice, hints of smoke, back palate is quite nice, everything comes together, butter, wood, peanuts, dark fruits, old sherry type.

Finish: moderate, dark fruit rollups.

Interesting Family Cask, one of the lesser sherry influenced ones, flavors are a little all over the place, but distinct and intense. From the sherry bomb perspective, very unlike the heavily sherried Family Casks that I've had before... it truly is hit or miss. Very enjoyable and its interesting if someone knows the Glenfarclas product line. Actually reminds me of a much weaker Port Ellen.

Grade: B-
