The Epicurean, Douglas Laing, Lowland Blended Malt, 46.2% abv.

The Epicurean is the Lowlands component in the Remarkable Regional Malts series from Douglas Laing.

Nose: grass, yellow fruits mostly lemon, very floral. After some time, it becomes more herbal in the line of herbal teas. There is a sharp bitter note in there.

Palate: light, a little drying, starfruit, apple pear skin, woody but more on the bitter cedar or bitter pine side, no smoke, nothing sweet, not very fruity.

Finish: short to moderate, not much going on.

A newly open bottle with everything fresh. The nose is interesting in the sense that I feel like I am in forest, or surrounded by some sort of shrubbery. Quite unique, but I think I'm one and done. I didn't get the major fruit that other tasters have said though. Had this at Slainte mhath bar in Busan, South Korea
