1934 Cosmo:

Naren Young, founder of Bartender Magazine, created this drink as a post-prohibition inspired reinvention of famous Cosmopolitan. He substituted gin for vodka because of its popularity at the time. He also uses lemon in place of lime, and raspberry in place of cranberry. It seems like a totally different drink, but the similarities are noticeable when sipping. It’s an improvement in my opinion.

1.5oz GIN (@beefeatergin)
1/2oz COINTREAU (@cointreau)
1/4oz SIMPLE SYRUP
3/4oz FRESH LEMON JUICE
6-8 muddled RASPBERRIES

•Muddled raspberries in shaker
•Add remaining ingredients and shake
•Double strain into chilled nick and nora
•Garnish with lemon wheel
