Tequila Matador (2 Ways):
There are two different versions of this cocktail and the only thing they have in common is the tequila.
Matador 1:
The first version of this drink was published in the ‘Café Royal Cocktail Book’ in 1937. This is a dry and citrus-free drink that reminds me of an El Presidente. I will certainly be making this one again. I LOVED it.
Matador 2:
This tiki-fied version of the drink comes from the one and only Trader Vic. His version was published in the 1972 book ‘Trader Vic’s Bartender’s Guide.’ He removes the dry ingredients and replaces them with citrus and tropical pineapple juice. Nothing too special about this drink.
