Angel's Envy Breaks Decade-Long Silence with New Triple Cask-Finished Whiskey

After a decade, Angel's Envy has returned with a bang after announcing a new addition to its core lineup: A new triple cask-finished whiskey.

The new release joins the brand's flagship Port-finished Bourbon and rum-finished rye. Each bottle contains Kentucky Bourbon aged between four and six years, then finished in a combination of Hungarian, Chinkapin and French oak casks.

This particular release will be the the brand's fourth release since Master Distiller Owen Martin took the reins in September 2022. Notably, it is the most accessible and affordable whiskey he has released for Angel's Envy so far.

Martin is said to have used first-fill Chinkapin barrels and second-fill Hungarian oak barrels for at least six months, along with first-fill French oak barrels for at least two months.

Following his former wishes of  imparting his own spin while innovating in a way true to the brand, his latest creation is his take on the popular double-barrelling trend. The process gets its name from Bourbon makers placing aged spirit in a second new charred oak barrel to age further.

“For Angel’s Envy to just put out a double oak Bourbon was not going to be enough – not from a flavour standpoint, in my opinion, and not from a storytelling standpoint," Martin said.

Martin also revealed that he has six more finishing projects currently ageing, with the goal of reusing certain oak types but in different contexts and at different price points.

At 46% ABV, Angel's Envy Triple Oak is priced at USD$75 and will be available nationwide in America beginning in October.
