Crown Royal, maker of the viral Crown Royal peach whisky, is debuting its first ever single malt expression: The Crown Royal Single Malt.

The new expression marks a somewhat unusual departure from Crown Royal's typical releases, which tends towards blended whiskies and flavoured whiskies.

Distilled at Crown Royal's Valleyfield Distillery, this expression is marketed as being "cut from the Canadian cold". It's bottled at 45% ABV and will be available at a suggested retail price of $54.99.

Nose: Creamy vanilla and fruity banana

Taste: Caramel, apple and baking spices

Finish: Lingering hints of spice and warm cinnamon

Last year, Crown Royal also debuted a more premium expression, a new 30 Year Old Extra Rare whisky as well as another flavoured whisky, the Crown Royale Blueberry.
