Jenny Camarena, a third-generation Tequila maker from the esteemed La Alteña Distillery, has been appointed Master Distiller and CEO at El Tesoro and succeeds her brother, Carlos Camarena. 

“It is my greatest honour to follow in the footsteps of the three men in my family that have shaped El Tesoro since my grandfather started this spirit in 1937,” she said.

As the youngest of nine siblings, Jenny pursued her passion for design by studying architecture at the Tecnologico de Monterrey in Guadalajara. In 2015, she brought her unique perspective to the world of spirits, joining the distilling team at La Alteña and previously serving as master of operations for the brand.

In her expanded role, Jenny will be responsible for driving innovation while upholding the quality of the distillery's core offerings. She will lead the brand's dedicated team of distillers and jimadores who meticulously care for and harvest the distillery's 100% highlands-grown blue agave (a process that spans up to nine years).
