Filliers Family Reserve Unveils Belgium’s Oldest Whisky With 34 Year Old Single Grain

Family-owned Belgian distillery Filliers has debuted its oldest release to date: a landmark 34-year-old single grain whisky.
Limited to just 111 bottles, this rare release stands as the distillery’s oldest expression and currently holds the title of the oldest Belgian whisky on the market.
It was released as part of Filliers’ Family Reserve collection, which honours its 145-year heritage, the single grain whisky debuted on March 9 at the Filliers Distillery with a launch event that featured a curated menu by Belgian chef Benoît Dewitte
The expression is made with a blend of corn, rye and malt, and aged for 34 years before being bottled in January 2026 at 52.3% ABV.
On the nose, the expression is said to have aromas of smoked hazelnuts and apricot. On the palate, it offers additional notes of spice, soft tannins, freshly cut wood, and elderflower.
Distilled in 1992 by Louis Filliers, this whisky represents the final cask produced in his career and the concluding release of the family’s fourth generation.
The limited release honours Louis’ vision and the role he played in shaping the modern Filliers Distillery, alongside his brother Carlos Filliers, where he guided the distillery towards producing refined aged spirits, shifting away from its agricultural roots.
The release is available at select retailers and at Brussels Airport while stocks last.
