Jack Daniel's has unveiled in Cannes, France, the Tennessee distillery's first American Single Malt. The new expression is made with 100% malted barley and matured in new charred American oak barrels for five years, before being finished in Oloroso Sherry casks for an additional two years and eight months.
The local barley comes from brewer's barley from the northern states in the US.
Jack Daniel's tells us to expect the 45% ABV whisky to offer "tingling fiery sensation on the nose with notes of vanilla and red fruit with the oloroso Sherry coming through, alongside a nuttiness."
You can expect the travel retail-exclusive offering to hit shelves globally in June 2023, with an RRP of US$100.
