"The name's Bond...James Bond." and while he is known to prefer his Martini's shaken not stirred, The Macallan has actually been the Queen's spy's whisky of choice, notably the movie Skyfall when Agent 007 sips on Macallan's Fine & Rare 1962.
To commemorate James Bond's 60th anniversary, Macallan has unveiled a limited edition James Bond 60th Anniversary Release to mark six glorious decades of the film's franchise.
The series will showcase six bottles each celebrating a decade of the film's history and as such will feature individually designed sleeves with original illustrative designs from a behind the scenes exploration of the James Bond archives. In total, the set of six tells the story of innovation across 60 years and the pioneering character attributes of James Bond and The Macallan.
“The Macallan is James Bond’s whisky of choice, and as two renowned global brands we share many synergies, most notably as modern innovators linked by our Scottish heritage.”
- Jaume Ferras, Global Creative Director, The Macallan
The whiskies contained were created by Macallan Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell, selected to reflect "the enduring character" of James Bond; a "force of natured defined by his Scottish heritage, who carries himself with modesty and humility". The expression is said to "exude a sense of style and maturity which has evolved over the years".
