Macallan's Distil Your World is ready to take us on another trip to a city of choice, and this time the flight ticket says... Paris!

Once again working closely with the Roca brothers of the world famous El Celler de Can Roca restaurant of Girona, Spain, the team at Macallan, led by Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell, have very curiously produced an expression that is FINALLY a departure of the Macallan's Sherry protocol, this time enlisting the use of Sherry seasoned casks, Bourbon casks, and... Cognac oak casks! Now that's a first!

As we know from previous editions, ranging from Macallan Distil Your World London, New York, Mexico and Hong Kong, each expression sees the whiskymaker from Macallan head to the featured city, along with the Roca brothers, where they'll pick up inspiration for the whisky to be made.

Macallan Distil Your World Paris reflects the culture and cuisine that makes Paris so unique. Sherry seasoned American oak casks provide creamy sweetness and perfumed notes, with further fragrance, tropical and toasted notes from casks that previously held Bourbon. A touch of depth and soft spices are introduced through sherry seasoned European oak casks, balanced with rich aromatics from specially selected Cognac casks. 

Official Tasting Notes

Aroma: Freshly baked almond croissants and a perfumed rose aroma lead to sweet nectarines in syrup, followed by sandalwood and gentle notes of vanilla pods.

Taste: Rich buttered pastry and brioche with the sweetness of sugared almonds. A fruity burst of peach melba evolves, with creamy mille feuille and soft toasted oak.

Finish: Gentle spices and warm oak build, to provide a sophisticated lingering finish.

Bottled at 47.2% ABV, the upcoming Macallan Distil Your World Paris might just prove to be the first in a line of Macallan's that finally depart from the classic Sherry cask ageing!
