"One rainy Sunday in mid-June, my wife called to tell me about a cute, chestnut-colored, cream-colored kitten who had arrived at our home. "We found him crying in the roadside shrubbery, and she said he must have gotten separated from his mother."

After taking him to the vet, we learned he was a male, about two months old. It's been a while since we've had a boy! We named him "Solla" hoping he'll grow up to be like the sun shining in the sky.

He's been a part of our family for about four months now, eating well and thriving, but it will probably be a while before he's accepted by his older sisters... *laughs*

This blended whisky is inspired by Solla's coat color and mischievous personality, and features flavors derived from spirits aged in chestnut barrels and Spanish oak and sherry casks."

Now in its 11th Release, each expression features a cat belonging to the Hombo family.

For its latest expression, named Solla, Mars has blended malt and grain whiskies that have been aged in chestnut barrels, with also Spanish Oak and Sherry cask aged whiskies, as inspired by their new addition to their cat family, Solla!

Mars' Lucky Cat Solla is bottled at 43% ABV and retails at 5,720 Yen (US$36.75), going on sale from 17th November 2025.
