Its legendary UK retailer Harrods 175th Anniversary and the House of Suntory has a special present ready - a limited edition Hibiki Japanese Harmony that will feature a design paying homage to Harrods.
Harrods was founded by Charles Henry Harrod in 1834 and had first started out as a grocery store and tea merchant, and of course along the way has become a British establishment known for its luxury retail. The 175th Anniversary starts its counter as of 1849, which is when Harrods had moved from its original Hyde Park location to its current Knightsbridge venue.
The Hibiki expression (43% ABV) features a blend of Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita, and follows the standard Hibiki Japanese Harmony expression that is currently a Suntory flagship expression, with just a commemorative packaging specially rendered in celebration of Harrods' 175th Anniversary.
The special packaging design features motifs including a peacock which represents Harrods' food halls, as well as a tea leaf paying homage to Harrods' early history as a tea merchant, and of course Harrods' motto "Omnia Omnibus Ubique", which translates as "All Things For All People Everywhere."
A total of just 175 bottles will be released, exclusively at Harrods, priced at £255 (US$287).
