Remember your days in Secondary School, nodding off to dreary History lessons? Wouldn't a good, delicious cocktail make them much more interesting? Well, Punch Room Singapore's got you covered.

From 11 Jul 2024, their new Volume I Menu: “Little Blue Dot” will bring guests through the untold stories and urban legends of Singapore’s past through a melody of 12 carefully curated punches.

Guests can be enraptured by the legendary Prince Sang Nila Utama with the Tempest Punch, based with gin, rum and enhanced by cucumber, lime, coriander seed with jasmine silver needle tea, or honour Singapore’s first Resident Commander, William Farquhar, with the Kusu Island Punch, made with Roku Gin, sparkling sake, pandan, yuzu, and sencha tea.

Split between the concepts of "Myth" and "History, each "history lesson" ranges from $27++ for a individual serving, to $248++ for large punch bowl.

The menu was conceptualised and curated by Head Bartender Logaraj I M (affectionately known as Loga), and Punch Room Manager Ang Kye Seng, along with Giovanni Graziadei, Director of Bars at The Singapore EDITION.

Opened in 2023, Punch Room Singapore is The Singapore EDITION’s signature bar concept that champions punch as both a cocktail and a lifestyle necessity. It's cocktails are heavily inspired by Southeast Asian spices.

Flip through the new menu, and guests will clap eyes upon vivid works reflecting uniquely Singaporean stories. From the Merlion leaping from the lightning-streaked skies into an urban jungle, or the legendary Kusu Island turtle swimming through the oceans as a fierce pillaging pirate, the tales of Singapore's past leap between page and palate.

Illustrations were brought to life by local illustrator Kristal Melson. Some might find the name familiar, knowing her for her work as the curator for the Facebook Artist in Residence programme and as the former art director for Kult (a multidisciplinary creative studio focused on interactive experiences using art, design and technology).
