Enjoy A Month Of Prohibition Era Cocktails At Samsu Huay Kuan Singapore Till 31 May
Whisky and cocktail lovers, listen up! Samsu Huay Kuan, that favourite Japanese whisky-focused bar tucked away in the quieter parts of Orchard, is shaking things up.
While usually a haven for neat sipping whiskies, rums and Cognacs, Samsu Huay Kuan just surprised us with this bartending collaboration. From the 15th of April to the 31st of May, they're taking a time-bending detour, straight into the world of classic cocktails.
The bar's being taken over by Ian Ng, a specialist in Japanese cocktail bartending who's earned his stripes at some of Singapore's respected Japanese-style bars like Last Word and Shin Gi Tai. For a limited time, he'll be mixing expertly crafted Prohibition-era and neo-classical cocktails – think the kinds of drinks that would make Gatsby himself raise an eyebrow in approval. And what's a classic cocktail without a little vintage jazz? Samsu Huay Kuan will be spinning jazzy tunes and neo-jazz rhythms to set the perfect speakeasy mood.
Tickets for this boozy adventure can be nabbed right at the door, with two seatings to choose from:
- 6pm to 8:30pm, or
- 9pm to 11:30pm.
The best part? A mere S$66 gets you a flight of four fabulous cocktails.
