Whisky Live Singapore 2024 Unveils First and Only VIP-Exclusive Edition: Here's What to Expect

 

Whisky Live Singapore is back for yet another year on 23 & 24 November 2024 at the Mandala Club! Organised by spirits retailer La Maison du Whisky (LMDW), a new VIP format will be adopted for the 13th edition of the event this year, promising an intimate experience for all ticketholders.

Primarily, visitors to the show can expect to be amongst the first in Asia-Pacific to taste new bottlings from LMDW’s ‘Foundations’ Catalogue, including exclusive bottlings of Macallan, Caroni and Blanton’s, as well as LMDW’s own series of Artist #14 single casks.

 

Asian whisky producers such as Kavalan are said to feature strongly this year. 

Curated Expressions For the Discerning Connoisseur

The star of this edition will be the VIP Central Bar, which will offer exclusive first-tastes of bottlings from LMDW’s 2024 Creations Catalogue, Foundations

Released annually, the Creations Catalogue is a compilation of exclusive bottlings from distilleries and independent bottlers around the world.

This year's Catalogue is inspired by the Rothes Glen Castle, located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. It was designed by noted architect Charles Doig – the inventor of pagoda-shaped roofs of  distilleries – is known for planning and perfecting the layout of some 50 distilleries throughout Scotland and the world. 

The Foundations catalogue honors Doig as a key figure in the history of whisky through the 170 expressions within, such as the 14th Edition of the Artist Range which includes a Longmorn 1994 and a Macallan 1991. 

 

 

Irish whiskey distiller Teeling Distillery has also partnered with Singapore's renowned Manhattan Bar to create quite the unique single malt whiskey.

Comprising a scarce 288 bottles, this exclusive single malt is finished in casks that previously held Manhattan Bar's signature barrel-aged Negroni. The new offering will debut at Whisky Live Singapore 2024, and will be available for purchase at Manhattan Bar and Mandala Club.

 

 

Rum lovers don't fret! We haven't forgotten about you. This year, Italian spirits producer Velier's Magnum Series #2 will be making its Singapore debut.

In 2021, Velier launched a range of rums in collaboration with the MAGNUM press agency, founded in 1947 by the world's leading photographers. Famed photographer Elliott Erwitt’s photography adorned bottles from the first Magnum series.

This year, the second edition sees its bottles clad in the work of American photographer Alex Webb; The Hampden LROK 2010, Saint James 2010Clarendon MBS 2014 and a 2015 vintage from Australian distillery Beenleigh.

Velier will also present a Vieux Sajous 5 Year Old 2019, a Clairin from Haiti aged in a blend of casks that once held Mount Gay rum, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey and Scottish single malt Benriach.

Last but not least will be the grand unveiling of Hoy Como Ayer Cuba 1956, which paying tribute to the height of Cuban rum amidst the nation’s revolution, as well as being distilled the very year LMDW was founded in Paris.

Exclusive Tastings, Masterclasses and More!

VIP ticket holders can also access curated food pairings, free masterclasses and more one-on-one time with renowned industry experts.

Previous editions of Whisky Live Singapore saw classes held by Mark Reynier, Founder of Waterford Whisky and Renegade Rum, as well as Nikka Whisky’s Global Education and Public Relations Leader Emiko Kaji

Ticket holders will also enjoy unrestricted access to Collectors Square. Set at LMDW’s Robertson Quay bar, old and rare iconic bottlings will be available to taste for a nominal fee. 

It is during these masterclasses, as well as at Collectors Square, where the Nikka Nine Decades will be available for guests to experience.

An extremely prestigious blended Japanese whisky celebrating Nikka’s 90th Anniversary, the bottle includes Yoichi single malt dating back to the 1940s,

Ticket holders are also entitled to 10 per cent off La Boutique – Whisky Live Singapore’s pop-up bottle retail store. Perks continue with a free cocktail per ticket holder redeemable at Cocktail Street in the vicinity on both event days.

This Year's Cocktail Street Will Be Open to General Public

"Cocktail Street" introduce various cocktails that cater to various afficionados regardless of their preferred spirit!

As part of this year's Cocktail Street concept, Whisky Live Singapore also presents cocktail experiences open to the general public. 

All weekend, signature cocktails will be offered from S$20++ from various award-winning bars within a five-minute walk from Mandala Club. 

At Kafe Utu, Singapore’s uniquely African café and lounge will offer their interpretations of Hampden, Veritas and Clairin Communal rum-based cocktails between 12pm - 4pm, and from 6pm-10pm. Cat Bite Club – winner of the Campari One to Watch Award at The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 – will be dedicated to offering cocktails made with Nikka offerings, while Foxtail Bar will present more Mezcal-centric creations. Other bars involved also include RPM by D.BespokeNOU and the revamped Beats, Bites & Cocktails.

Where To Buy Tickets

Ticket prices start from S$188+ for a VIP ticket, to S$220+ for a VIP Early Access ticket, with venue access from 2pm across both Saturday and Sunday.

An extremely limited number of VIP 2-Day Early Access tickets are also available from S$388+, with access to the show from 12pm both days. Tickets can be purchased at www.whiskylive.sg.
