Minds Behind Sips and Bar Leone To Open Cuban Inspired Bar Montana In Hong Kong

Hong Kong will soon see a slice of Miami with the addition of a Cuban-inspired bar to its nightlife scene.

Lorenzo Antinori (Bar Leone, Hong Kong – No.2, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024; The Best Bar in Asia 2024) and Simone Caporale (Sips, Barcelona – No.3, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024; The Best Bar in Europe 2024; The World's Best Bar 2023) are uniting to unveil Montana, a bar that draws from the craft and legacy of the Club de los Cantineros, Cuba’s legendary bartenders’ guild, while channeling the electric energy of Miami in the 1970s.

Set in Hong Kong, a melting pot where global influences and a discerning cosmopolitan clientele collide, Montana is inspired by Havana's iconic Club de los Cantineros, and will fuse the golden age of Cuban cocktails with the vibrant, sun-drenched energy of 1970s Miami.

In a way, the concept also pays homage to the city of Hong Kong: a melting pot where global influences and a shifting tides of cosmopolitan clientele collide.

Celebrating Cuban mixology, Montana honors classic cocktails like the Daiquiri, Mojito, and El Presidente from the Club de los Cantineros' legacy, but with an added focus on music, movement, and lasting hospitality.

Roman-born Lorenzo made his mark in London and Seoul before shaping Hong Kong's bar scene with the award-winning ARGO and his globally acclaimed Bar Leone (No.2, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024; The Best Bar in Asia 2024).

Simone, celebrated for his visionary tenure at Artesian and his groundbreaking co-founding of Barcelona's Sips (No.3, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024; The Best Bar in Europe 2024; The World's Best Bar 2023), continues to redefine modern mixology.

Montana is slated to open in Hong Kong in summer 2025.
