Senjo Sake Masterclass and Food Pairing With Sake Social! Singapore, 22 July 2023

Coming up this weekend, Sake Social, Singapore's event organiser for sake education, is pairing up with the esteemed Senjo Sake Brewery for a one-of-a-kind experience.

Senjo Brewery, tucked in the high mountain valleys of Nagano, Japan, has a legacy dating back to 1866. Named after the Senjo-ga-take peak in the Japan Alps, the water from this melting snow feeds into the brewery's well, forming the foundation of their craft. Run by the sixth generation of the Kurogouchi family, the brewery has evolved, blending art and science, tradition and technology, to contribute to Nagano’s rich history of sake brewing.

Sake Social’s upcoming event offers an in-depth exploration into this intoxicating world of sake, featuring a curated masterclass and pairing dinner. The evening stars five of Senjo Brewery's premium sakes, each with its distinct personality. On the roster are:

  • Senjo Junmai Ginjo Salamander,
  • Senjo Junmai Daiginjo Full Moon,
  • Senjo Junmai Ginjo Mountain Trout,
  • Kuromatsu-Senjo Prototype Junmai Daiginjo, and
  • Senjo Sakura Craft Gin.

The masterclass will be conducted by none other than Takashi Kuroguochi, the President of Senjo Sake Brewery. With intimate knowledge of the craft, Kuroguochi is set to share insights into Senjo's ongoing quest to discover new possibilities in the realm of sake and beyond.

This experience is further enhanced by a pairing with an array of Singaporean dishes thoughtfully curated by The Kongsee. Anticipate flavourful delights like Salted Egg Prawn Skewers, a Cold Seafood Platter with Nam Jim Dip, succulent Iberico Satay, and, for a sweet finish, house-made Kaya Ice Cream.
