The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore has announced the launch of its first Singapore Rum Festival 2023, a celebration of all things rum, happening on July 8th and 9th. This festival will gather rum connoisseurs and enthusiasts under one roof, offering a unique chance to sample and learn about the most exquisite rum brands from all over the world.

This two-day festivity will feature over 20 world-class rum brands including Bacardi, Mount Gay, Doorly's, Hampden, Neisson, Black Tot, Renegade, TCRL, Black Tears, and La Progresiva. 

Furthermore, you will also get to uncover the vibrant rum scene of Southeast Asia. Guests can discover the exotic Cambodian Samai produced in Phnom Penh from local Cambodian sugarcane, including a spiced rum cariant that features Cambodian Kampot pepper, a local delicacy.

Delve into Thai flavours with two up-and-coming Thai rums. Phraya Rum hails from a town to the West of Bangkok and has a distinctive profile of cinnamon and barley. Chalong Bay Rum is relatively newer, and is founded by a French couple who look to create a rum with notes of lemongrass and basil.

Your survey of Southeast Asia also wouldn't be complete without Philippines' acclaimed and first single estate rum, Luisita. This rum is made from locally-grown sugar cane within the Luisita Estate itself and features notes of caramelised banana and red fruits. This is honestly one of our favourites! 

This epicurean experience extends beyond mere tastings. The Singapore Rum Festival also presents an opportunity to engage with industry leaders through curated masterclasses and exclusive rum tastings. Edriane Lim, the Bar Manager at The Bar at 15 Stamford, will personally guide a rum tasting session on 8 July from 12pm to 7pm. The Rum Cartel takes centre stage on 9 July from 12pm to 7pm, offering a premium rum tasting that's not to be missed.

Of course, no celebration of rum would be complete without delicious cocktails and food. Rum-inspired cocktails and food will be available to complement the spirit of the festival.
