After years of limited cocktail options in Kobe, Japan, THE KAZAN ROOM explodes on the scene bringing authentic Tiki, craft cocktails, and escapism to the city for the first time.

The recently-opened bar takes a fresh perspective on Tiki culture, as it highlights all of the essential iconography of Classic and Pre-Tiki bars of years past, all while packaged in a traditional Japanese snack bar.

Inspired by the volcano (“Kazan”), THE KAZAN ROOM seamlessly weaves this theme throughout the décor with its volcanic-inspired flooring, exposed concrete walls, smooth concrete counter, and faux jungle leaves draped from the ceiling. Mix in traditional Tiki elements, such as vintage rattan furniture, imported hand-carved Tikis, exotic art, and the immersive sounds of Exotica music, and THE KAZAN ROOM makes for pure escapism. Finding escape is just a sip away with a well-rounded 18-drink Tiki cocktail menu.

Drinks range from Classic Tiki libations like the Zombie Punch to house originals, such as the Sakura Sling mixed with a local cherry blossom liqueur, and the Kokobe, based in a Japanese blended whisky. All drinks are hand-crafted using freshpressed citrus, handmade syrups, and locally-sourced spirits.

THE KAZAN ROOM is located on 4F in the Elephant Building on Nakayamate Street in the Historic Kitano neighborhood of Kobe, Japan.
