Wine Connection Cooks Up New Wine & Food Menu: November 2024

Wine Connection, your friendly neighbourhood wine shop and bistro that brings value in wines to all, has just rolled out a new expanded menu. From now until 1st December 2024, they're sweetening the deal with a complimentary glass of house wine with selected main courses (Lamb Pappardelle, Seafood Bouillabaisse or Chicken Parmigiana).

The new menu includes classic dishes that have been given a proper glow-up, with Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings, French Onion Soup and good selection of seafood. The Seafood Bouillabaisse is packed with red sea prawns, scallops, clams, squid, and mussels all swimming in a flavourful lobster bisque. There is also Grilled Octopus with truffle potato purée and chimichurri sauce that is sure to impress.

It would continue to offer hand-stretched pizzas with the Carbonara Pizza or if you're after something a bit more adventurous, the Tartufo E Funghi Pizza with mushrooms, truffle oil, rocket leaves, and Grana Padano.

Pasta is also getting a lot of love on this new menu - the Pappardelle with Spicy Braised Lamb Shoulder is a hearty dish with tender lamb, rich tomato sauce, a hint of red wine, and a sprinkle of rosemary crumbs and chili flakes for good measure. And for a lighter option, the Pappardelle with Creamy Shrimp & Spinach is a delightful combination of fresh shrimp, creamy garlic sauce, and wilted spinach, all topped with a generous grating of Grana Padano.

There is also something for meat lovers. The Iberico Pork Chop is served with haricot beans, baby carrots, creamy mashed potato, and your choice of sauce. And the Chicken Parmigiana is a comforting classic, with a crispy breaded chicken breast smothered in tangy tomato sauce and topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan.

To finish things off, there's a new dessert that's sure to satisfy your sweet tooth: Sticky Date Pudding with toffee sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a Chocolate Lava Cake.

All your old favourites are still there with the Mixed Platter of charcuterie and cheeses, Cheese Platter with artisanal farm cheeses flown in from Europe every week and the Spanish Style Gambas and the Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings.

Wine Connection has also expanded its wine-by-the-glass selection. Now you can choose from 21 different wines, starting at just $6 a glass (*Only 8 selections of wine by the glass at the 4 outlets at HillV, Downtown East, West Coast, Westgate). They've got wines from 15 different regions, and they even have a seasonal selection of 5 wines that they rotate throughout the year.

All in all, Wine Connection's new menu is a welcome refresh that's sure to please both regulars and newcomers alike!
