Ilegal Mezcal Is Doing A Reposado With A Caribbean Cask Finish, So You Might Want To Act Quick
Ilegal Mezcal is producing a Reposado Caribbean Cask Finish expression that's first aged in American oak barrels for 4-6 months, and after which the aged Mezcal was then finished for 2 more months in 215 ex-Rum barrels that previously contained 8 year-old Bacardi Ocho rum from the Caribbeans.
The mezcal is said to offer up aromas of caramelised pears and oranges on the nose, with butterscotch and a light wisp of smoke on the palate, with an overall tropical fruit and warm spice flavour profile with just a subtle hint of caramel sweetness and butterscotch.
The new Ilegal Mezcal Reposado Caribbean Cask Finish is bottled at 42% ABV, and is priced at US$50, and will be made available from the Ilegal Mezcal website from 16th September 2024 onwards, and through select retailers.
