Patron is blurring the lines between smoky mezcal and crisper tequila, with two new smoky expressions - the Ahumado Silver and the Ahumado Reposado.

The two new bottlings make use of agave roasted in small batches with mesquite charcoal for a full seven days in underground stone pits. This is where the "ahumado" method comes in, the term meaning "smoke", where this contrasts to tequila's use of steamed blue weber agave.

Patron has kept the new expressions affordable with the Patron Ahumado Silver (40% ABV) retailing at US$69.99, while the Patron Ahumado Reposado (41% ABV) will retail at US$79.99.
