Put together by members of food and beverage committee within Kuala Lumpur, the first Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Week is set to take place from 24 April to 30 April! The event is held to promote the burgeoning cocktail scene within the capital city, offering a platform for both local and international bartenders to showcase their mixology prowess.
The week long event features bar takeovers, seminars and cocktail pairings across a total of 18 Kuala Lumpur, with 14 international bars participating in bar takeovers; as well as an open cocktail competition and a festival village.
Bar Takeovers & Cocktail Pairings
Across all days except 27th April, there will bar takeovers and cocktail pairings across five segments of Kuala Lumpur: Bangsar, Petaling Jaya/ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Damansara Heights, Chinatown, and Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

KLCW Open Cocktail Competition
Bartenders across Malaysia, be it seasoned at the bar or drink fixers at home, are invited to join the Open Cocktail Competition. The champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up will receive a prize money of RM3000, RM2000 and RM800 respecetively, with a bonus RM200 for the Social Media Prize alongside a KLCW hamper.
As on this date, the final 10 cocktails have been shortlisted, with the final 6 cocktails being shortlisted on 20th April - where the bartenders will be invited to shake up their cocktails for the final judging on the 27th of April.

The committee behind the Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Week are folks from bars and restaurants within the Kuala Lumpur food and beverage scene - chaired by Angeline Tan of Three X Co., with Divyesh Chuhan of JungleBird, Jin Boone Ooi of Wholly Spirits, Joshua Ivanovic of JungleBird, Jon Lee of Penrose, Lolita Goh of JungleBird, Maehew Goh of Penrose, Nick Choo of Reka, Nicholas Ng of Food For Thought and Tipple.my, and Rohan Matmary of Bar Trigona.
